The scientific basis of modern-day psychiatry is an integration of biological, psychological, and social aspects. It is also rooted in intellectual, empathic, and humanistic traditions. Through acknowledgement of these aspects and traditions, Dr. Kumar Bahl provides a broad range of treatment modalities in psychiatry while specializing in geriatric psychiatry and psychosomatic medicine.
Emotional problems and psychiatric conditions are like any other medical illness. In fact, if left untreated, psychiatric illness can complicate underlying medical conditions and even make them difficult to treat. Psychiatric illnesses are real and prevalent in every society and in all age groups, regardless of a person’s economic status.
Fortunately, there are multiple treatment approaches available today. Individually tailored choices of medications and therapies can be used to treat emotional and psychiatric conditions. If you or any of your family members are showing signs of depression, anxiety (including panic attacks, obsessive compulsive behavior, trauma exposure-related anxiety, fears, and phobias), frequent mood changes, mood irritability, agitation, psychosis, self-injurious behavior, personality changes, drug addiction and worsening memory and behavior, there is help.
